The only entry-level job in nursing is that of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), which is mostly found in hospitals, nursing homes, and residential care facilities. As part of their basic duties, CNAs take vital signs like temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and breathing and write them down.

Electrocardiograph Technician (EKG/ECG) perform cardiac (heart) testing under a doctor’s supervision using an electrocardiograph or EKG, the test commonly used to identify irregular heart rhythms. EKG technicians maintain equipment and prepare patients for cardiovascular tests.
