Emergency Room Technicians perform routine patient care, support, and services, integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers, exercise sound judgment, and develop clinical skills to support the patient’s plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Emergency Room Technicians must manage multiple demands on their time to support the activity of the nursing staff, facilitate the timely flow of patients through the department and ensure that the department is stocked and ready always to receive and treat patients.
