John Cordova, RN, BSN, PHN, MSN(IP)

Futuro Health welcomes John Cordova, RN, BSN, PHN, MSN(IP) to serve as Program Director of Allied Health to grow and innovate our education and training catalog.  John comes to Futuro Health with over 19 years with the California community college system. He has worked exclusively with workforce and economic development in his tenure, focusing on nursing and allied health programs across the state. As the Statewide Director – Health Workforce Initiative, he led a team of ten Regional Directors jointly meeting the needs of industry workforce needs in training, professional development, and curriculum.

John has taught in varied nursing career programs for the Certified Nurse Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Associate Degree Nursing programs. As a professional nurse, a member of various nursing service organizations, inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Past President of the Southern California Chapter for the American Assembly for Men in Nursing, he advocates for men in nursing and women in EMS.  He also brings community and public health nursing experience working with community health fairs, public health, residential and community care homes, long-term care, and most recently, vaccination centers.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from California Dominguez Hills, with his Public Health Nursing certificate. He is currently completing his master’s degree in Nursing Education with Western Governors University. He has trained in human patient simulation with low and high fidelity simulators, integrating simulation technology into interdisciplinary models; project management, and served as a clinical expert on the Healthcare Technology Specialist Certification with a national organization.
