Sloan H.
Instructor, Dual Role
Sloan brings several years of experience in higher education, student support services, community advocacy, and mental health coaching. Her professional background includes student admissions, financial aid advising, customer relations, qualitative psychological research, and postsecondary instruction. Throughout her career, she has supported students and community members in navigating educational, personal, and professional goals while promoting overall well-being and success.
Sloan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Criminal Justice in 2020. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered alongside faculty and members of the Psychology Association to support veterans and individuals experiencing housing insecurity. She also tutored students and provided guidance in resume development, interview preparation, and career planning.
As a Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) credentialed across multiple states, Sloan is passionate about connecting individuals and families with resources, health education, and support services. Sloan earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling in 2025 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Education. Outside of her professional roles, Sloan enjoys reading, hiking, and kayaking or spending time with her son and pets.
