Laneay L., MSW, is an internationally recognized leader in mental health workforce development and a driving force behind initiatives that expand career pathways in behavioral health. With over two decades of experience spanning higher education, workforce policy, and nonprofit leadership, she has played a critical role in shaping strategies that address workforce shortages and increase diversity in mental health professions.

Formerly a project lead for the Association of Black Psychologists and the California Health Workforce Initiative, Laneay has led research efforts such as the Black Mental Health Workforce Survey Report and co-authored the Behavioral-Mental Health Toolkit for Educators, both designed to improve access to careers in behavioral health. She has advised community colleges, government agencies, and healthcare organizations on best practices for training the next generation of mental health professionals.

Currently, Laneay serves as Sr. Manager of the Mental and Behavioral Health Portfolio at Futuro Health, where she drives national workforce expansion efforts and develops solutions to build a more inclusive and resilient behavioral health sector. Her work integrates mental health education, emotional intelligence training, and financial literacy, ensuring professionals are equipped with clinical and personal skills for long-term success.
A sought-after speaker and trainer, Laneay has led Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), QPR Suicide Prevention, and emotional intelligence training for organizations worldwide. She holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from California State University, Bakersfield.

Laneay is a recognized advocate for workforce equity and mental health literacy. She actively contributes to policy discussions on mental health careers and economic mobility. Her expertise continues to shape national strategies for strengthening and diversifying the behavioral health workforce.
