Maya has 11+ years of experience providing marketing and communications services for non-profit and community-based organizations. Most recently, she managed communications for Arts + Public Life, an initiative of UChicago Arts that offers Black and Brown artist residencies and education programs. Additionally, for the past 5 years Maya has shared her communications expertise with over 600 young people in Chicago Public Schools through a course she designed and taught focused on digital storytelling.

As Communications Manager, Maya provides internal and external communications support for projects including Scholar Messaging, Futuro Health’s Ambassador Program, social media, newsletter and website. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Art History from Grinnell College and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Chicago. She is bilingual and has a masters endorsement in working with English Language Learners.
