Boosting Vaccinations and Healthcare Careers

You might think the goal at the Moscone Center in San Francisco is simply to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to as many eligible people as possible. After all, the large, temporary vaccination site has the capacity to administer up to 10,000 doses per day, as supply allows.

A closer look reveals that something else important is happening there: the much-needed training of the health care workers of tomorrow. And Futuro Health is playing a major role.

Futuro Health Leadership Update

Futuro Health is welcoming two industry veterans to its executive team.

Futuro Health's new Program Director of Allied Health, John Cordova, RN, BSN, PHN, MSN(IP), will help grow and innovate our education and training catalog. Cordova comes to Futuro Health with over 19 years of experience in the California community college system. He focused solely on workforce and economic development efforts to promote nursing and allied health programs across the state.

Veenu Aulakh is also joining the Futuro Health team as an Executive-in-Residence. Aulakh will play a key role for the organization, evaluating ways Futuro Health can identify new partnerships and opportunities for newly trained workers and improving care for patients. She comes from the Center for Care Innovations (CCI) where she served as president from 2012 to 2020, growing the organization’s staff, budget, and strategy to focus on strengthening the health and health care for under-invested communities across the country. There, Aulakh helped to build critical partnerships with health care providers, funders, entrepreneurs, and community partners to transform health.

In addition to these new faces, Futuro Health’s existing team members are shifting as well.

Tessa Miley will be the new Director of Strategic Partnerships within Futuro Health, working to facilitate our evolution. Futuro Health is also saying goodbye to an instrumental team member, Debbie Yaddow, who played a critical role in the formation of Futuro Health and drove the creation of the year one and year two catalog. We wish her the best in her retirement.
