Futuro Health Joins Newly Formed Markle Rework America Alliance to Help Millions of Workers Move into Good Jobs

Futuro Health has joined the newly formed Rework America Alliance, an unprecedented nationwide collaboration to enable unemployed and low-wage workers to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic stronger. The Alliance aims to help millions of workers, regardless of formal education, move into good jobs in the digital economy by accelerating the development of an effective system of worker training aligned to jobs that employers will need to fill.

Formed by Markle Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to realize the potential of information technology to address previously intractable public problems for the economic security, health, and national security of all Americans, the Alliance will provide market-demand insights validated by employers; information on training that prepares people for good jobs that are in high demand; as well as knowledge and tools to enable career coaches to be more effective in helping workers connect to training and good jobs. This will enable the many worker-facing digital platforms and direct-service organizations to scale up the critical support they provide to workers and jobseekers.

The Alliance is formed out of a deep commitment by a unique group of organizations including:

“We feel honored to be a part of this national effort to create opportunity for workers as the economy recovers from the pandemic,” said Futuro Health CEO Van Ton-Quinlivan. “We know families are struggling from the impacts of COVID-19. It will take collective effort to facilitate an inclusive recovery.”

Student Spotlight: Futuro Health Gives Student Second Chance to Pursue Her Dream
Student Spotlight

Futuro Health student Hassana loves helping people and enjoys being a part of the community and being on the front lines. She counsels families who have experienced grief, such as the loss of a loved one, at her local church.

Hassana earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, and her ultimate goal is to become a registered nurse. She completed her prerequisites to become an RN 10 years ago, but her GPA dropped due to life circumstances, and she became discouraged. Eager to get back into the medical field, Hassana enrolled in Futuro Health’s Jump Start Courses to take the prerequisite courses that will put her on track to a program of study, starting this month.

Hassana says the Futuro Health program was meant for her because of her great interest in re-entering the health field.

“My goal is to be an RN because I love caring for people,” she said. “It’s not all about the money but how much can I do to touch somebody’s life.”

Hassana plans to enter Futuro Health’s Medical Assistant program after she completes her prerequisite courses.

It’s never too late to try again. If you are interested in re-entering the health field or looking to start a new career, our Jump Start Courses can help you get started. Learn more about them.
