Nita Patel has more than 20 years of experience in project management, and federal and state fiscal, budget, grants and contracts monitoring and oversight in both private and public sectors. She is a strategic and analytic thinker who is adept at reviewing processes and creating system-wide efficiencies to improve operations.

Most recently Nita was manager, for the Workforce and Economic Development Division at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. During her tenure she was responsible for the management and oversight of $1.2 billion in funding annually and reporting aspects of the state and federal funding sources. In addition, Nita provided a clear and concise audit trail to support state and federal grants totaling more than $200 million. She was project manager for the NOVA platform since its inception in 2016, which allows the California Community College System to plan and invest over $3.2 billion in projects and provides transparency to all stakeholders. She was also instrumental in the implementation of e-signature technology for the agency, and managed the day-to-day division operations and the grants and contracts administration team.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with honors from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.
