Dawn’s extensive experience spans critical care, telemetry, emergency care, and medical-surgical nursing, where she has been a compassionate and skilled caregiver throughout her 25 year career. In addition to her clinical roles, Dawn has a long history in nursing education, having taught for over 10 years as a clinical and theory instructor in both Registered Nursing and Licensed Vocational Nursing programs. She became tenured in 2016, underscoring her commitment to the growth and development of future healthcare professionals.
Throughout her career in education, Dawn held key leadership roles, including Clinical Placement Coordinator, where she was responsible for securing new clinical facility contracts for the Registered Nurse (RN) and Vocational Nursing (VN) programs. She ensured that students met the specific requirements of each clinical facility and facilitated site visits to ensure compliance with program standards. Dawn also acted as a liaison between the RN Program and clinical facilities for the RN Preceptorship Program, ensuring strong communication and positive relationships between students and clinical partners.
Dawn has also held leadership positions, including Assistant Director of Registered Nurse Program and Director of Multiple Nursing Programs, where she successfully managed and guided nursing, vocational, and healthcare support programs. She retired in 2023, after making a lasting impact on both students and healthcare teams and is now excited to return to her passion for mentoring and guiding scholars in their healthcare career journeys.
