Allysunn Walker, MBA, MPH
Allysunn Walker has joined Futuro Health as an Executive-in-Residence, working in partnership with Futuro Health and the Fresno Business Council to grow the pool of allied health workers in a region with one of the highest concentrations of poverty of any MSA in the US. Allysunn’s health care career began as Director of Community Health and Education at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where she quantified $77M in uncompensated care, launched a pioneering mobile medical unit initiative and led a CHW demonstration project in six public housing communities, in partnership with the CA Endowment, the Housing Authority City of Los Angeles, East LA College and UCLA, where she received her Masters in Public Health with distinction.
Allysunn’s career has since stretched across the community economic development landscape where she has led regional initiatives to create access to economic opportunities for all. She is known as a builder, an organizational “architect” with a visionary voice and administrative gifts. She has a demonstrated history of proven public and private-sector leadership, and has served on corporate and non-profit boards.
Allysunn is currently the CEO of Walker Community Ventures, LLC, focusing on market-driven solutions for community restoration and wealth creation – through homeownership and entrepreneurship — for historically excluded, low-wealth communities. As Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Nonprofity, LLC, in 2020 Allysunn launched a philanthropic-advisory and grantee-support consultancy, led by women of color, focused on sustainable impact investing in communities of color.
Before joining Futuro, Allysunn served as President & CEO of the California Council on Economic Education (CCEE), Chief Real Estate Development Officer of the Fresno Housing Authority, Associate Executive Director of the Fresno County Economic Opportunities Commission, and Associate Director of the Office of Community Economic Development at Fresno State.
Allysunn earned her B.A. from Harvard University. She is a life-long learner, Lakers fan, voracious reader, cat person and mother of a 2nd year Fresno State Bulldog.
